The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 3.2.106; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

चापलं, यथा श्री-कृष्ण-कर्णामृते (३२) —
त्वच्-छैशवं त्रि-भुवनाद्भुतम् इत्य् अवेहि
मच्-चापलं च तव वा मम वाधिगम्यम् ।
तत् किं करोमि विरलं मुरली-विलासि
मुग्धं मुखाम्बुजम् उदीक्षितुम् ईक्षणाभ्याम् ॥३.२.१०६॥

cāpalaṃ, yathā śrī-kṛṣṇa-karṇāmṛte (32) —
tvac-chaiśavaṃ tri-bhuvanādbhutam ity avehi
mac-cāpalaṃ ca tava vā mama vādhigamyam
|
tat kiṃ karomi viralaṃ muralī-vilāsi
mugdhaṃ mukhāmbujam udīkṣitum īkṣaṇābhyām
||3.2.106||

English translation

An example of cāpalam (insolence) in utkaṇṭhitam, from Kṛṣṇa-kārṇāmṛta:
“You know that Your sweet youth astonishes all three worlds. Thus, You and I can understand my insolence in wanting to see You. Give me some instruction. What should I do to see Your rare lotus face with the attractive flute?”
