श्रत्ते॑ दधामि प्रथ॒माय॑ म॒न्यवेऽह॒न्यद्वृ॒त्रं नर्यं॑ वि॒वेर॒पः । उ॒भे यत्त्वा॒ भव॑तो॒ रोद॑सी॒ अनु॒ रेज॑ते॒ शुष्मा॑त्पृथि॒वी चि॑दद्रिवः ॥
श्रत्ते दधामि प्रथमाय मन्यवेऽहन्यद्वृत्रं नर्यं विवेरपः । उभे यत्त्वा भवतो रोदसी अनु रेजते शुष्मात्पृथिवी चिदद्रिवः ॥
śrat te dadhāmi prathamāya manyave 'han yad vṛtraṃ naryaṃ viver apaḥ | ubhe yat tvā bhavato rodasī anu rejate śuṣmāt pṛthivī cid adrivaḥ ||
English translation:
“I have faith, Indra, in your first wrath, whereby you did slay Vṛtra, and did undertake a work friendly toman; when both heaven and earth were inferior to you, the firmament trembled at your might, O wielder of thethunderbolt.”

Friendly to man: naryam vṛtram: from ni, to lead; viver apas = did approach the waters, i.e., thisworld;
Naryam = friendly to man; or, heroic, manly
