Rig Veda 10.71.6

यस्ति॒त्याज॑ सचि॒विदं॒ सखा॑यं॒ न तस्य॑ वा॒च्यपि॑ भा॒गो अ॑स्ति । यदीं॑ शृ॒णोत्यल॑कं शृणोति न॒हि प्र॒वेद॑ सुकृ॒तस्य॒ पन्था॑म् ॥
यस्तित्याज सचिविदं सखायं न तस्य वाच्यपि भागो अस्ति । यदीं शृणोत्यलकं शृणोति नहि प्रवेद सुकृतस्य पन्थाम् ॥
yas tityāja sacividaṃ sakhāyaṃ na tasya vācy api bhāgo asti | yad īṃ śṛṇoty alakaṃ śṛṇoti nahi praveda sukṛtasya panthām ||

English translation:

“He who has abandoned the friend who knows the duty of a friend, in his speech there is not a particle(of sense); what he hears, he hears amiss; for he knows not the path of righteousness.”

Commentary by Sāyaṇa: Ṛgveda-bhāṣya

Duty of a friend:sacividam = the teacher who is the friend of the Veda because he shows his gratitude to the Veda by preventingthe destruction of tradition; he hears amiss: what he hears outside (contrary to) the Veda he hears false
