Rig Veda 8.45.34

मा न॒ एक॑स्मि॒न्नाग॑सि॒ मा द्वयो॑रु॒त त्रि॒षु । वधी॒र्मा शू॑र॒ भूरि॑षु ॥
मा न एकस्मिन्नागसि मा द्वयोरुत त्रिषु । वधीर्मा शूर भूरिषु ॥
mā na ekasminn āgasi mā dvayor uta triṣu | vadhīr mā śūra bhūriṣu ||

English translation:

“Slay us not for one sin, not for two, not for three; O hero, slay us not for many.”
