Rig Veda 7.88.4

वसि॑ष्ठं ह॒ वरु॑णो ना॒व्याधा॒दृषिं॑ चकार॒ स्वपा॒ महो॑भिः । स्तो॒तारं॒ विप्र॑: सुदिन॒त्वे अह्नां॒ यान्नु द्याव॑स्त॒तन॒न्यादु॒षास॑: ॥
वसिष्ठं ह वरुणो नाव्याधादृषिं चकार स्वपा महोभिः । स्तोतारं विप्रः सुदिनत्वे अह्नां यान्नु द्यावस्ततनन्यादुषासः ॥
vasiṣṭhaṃ ha varuṇo nāvy ādhād ṛṣiṃ cakāra svapā mahobhiḥ | stotāraṃ vipraḥ sudinatve ahnāṃ yān nu dyāvas tatanan yād uṣāsaḥ ||

English translation:

“So Varuṇa plural ced Vasiṣṭha in the ship, and by his mighty protection made the ṛṣi a doer of goodworks; the wise Varuṇa plural ced his worshipper in a fortunate day of days, he extended the passing days, thepassing nights.”

Commentary by Sāyaṇa: Ṛgveda-bhāṣya

In a fortunate day: sudinatve: state or property of a lucky day by its being fruitful, phalatvena;

Heextended: yān nu dyāvas tatanan yāduṣāsaḥ: varuṇa = the sun;

Uṣāsaḥ = rātriḥ, nights;

Yat = yatahgacchataḥ
