प्रति॑ वां॒ सूर॒ उदि॑ते सू॒क्तैर्मि॒त्रं हु॑वे॒ वरु॑णं पू॒तद॑क्षम् । ययो॑रसु॒र्य१॒॑मक्षि॑तं॒ ज्येष्ठं॒ विश्व॑स्य॒ याम॑न्ना॒चिता॑ जिग॒त्नु ॥
प्रति वां सूर उदिते सूक्तैर्मित्रं हुवे वरुणं पूतदक्षम् । ययोरसुर्यमक्षितं ज्येष्ठं विश्वस्य यामन्नाचिता जिगत्नु ॥
prati vāṃ sūra udite sūktair mitraṃ huve varuṇam pūtadakṣam | yayor asuryam akṣitaṃ jyeṣṭhaṃ viśvasya yāmann ācitā jigatnu ||

English translation:

“When the sun has risen, I invoke Mitra and you, Varuṇa, of pure vigour, whose imperishable andsuperior might is triumphant in the crowded conflict over all enemies.”
