Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. पुराभिमन्युर्लक्ष्यं नः पश्यतां हन्ति वीर्यवान् ।
तमाद्रवत मा भैष्ट क्षिप्रं रक्षत कौरवम् ॥ ३ ॥
