श्री-मुनिर् उवाच
घण्टानाद महा-दुश्ट
पाप-बुद्धे ऽति-लुब्धक
ग्राहवत् त्वं धन-ग्राही
ग्राहो भव महा-खल
śrī-munir uvāca
ghaṇṭānāda mahā-duśṭa
pāpa-buddhe 'ti-lubdhaka
grāhavat tvaṃ dhana-grāhī
grāho bhava mahā-khala
śrī-munir uvāca-the sage said; ghaṇṭānāda—O Ghantanada; mahā-duśṭa—wicked; pāpa-buddhe—sinful; ati-lubdhaka—very greedy; grāhavat—like a crocodile; tvam—you; dhana-grāhī—grasping for wealth; grāhaḥ—a crocodile; bhava— become; mahā-khala—O wretch.
English translation of verse 6.10.39:
Śrī Durvāsā said: Sinful, wicked, greedy Ghaṇṭānāda, you clutch at wealth as crocodile would clutch. I curse you: Become a crocodile!
