The Garga-samhita Verse 6.1.8, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 6 of Chapter 1 (Jarasandha’s Defeat) of Canto 6 (dvaraka-khanda).

Sanskrit text, transliteration and word-by-word meaning:

सर्वं चास्य बलं राम
हन्तव्यं वै न संशयः
मागधस् तु न हन्तव्यो
भूयः कर्ता बलोद्यमम्

sarvaṃ cāsya balaṃ rāma
hantavyaṃ vai na saṃśayaḥ
māgadhas tu na hantavyo
bhūyaḥ kartā balodyamam

sarvam—all; ca—and; asyaof him; balam—the army; rāmaO Balarāma; hantavyam—should be killed; vai—indeed; na—not; saṃśayaḥ—doubt; māgadhaḥthe kin gof Magadha; tu—indeed; na—not; hantavyaḥ—to be killed; bhūyaḥ—more; kartāby the doer; balodyamam—power.

English translation of verse 6.1.8:

O Balarāma, this army should be destroyed, but Jarāsandha should not be killed. Of this there is no doubt.
