The Garga-samhita Verse 5.24.54, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 5 of Chapter 24 (The Killing of the Kola Demon) of Canto 5 (mathura-khanda).

Sanskrit text, transliteration and word-by-word meaning:

विकरालः क्रोड-मुखो
ऽसुरो ऽभवन् महा-खलः
इत्थं स मुनि-शापेन
कोलः क्रोद-मुखो ऽभवत्

vikarālaḥ kroḍa-mukho
'suro 'bhavan mahā-khalaḥ
itthaṃ sa muni-śāpena
kolaḥ kroda-mukho 'bhavat

vikarālaḥhorrible; kroḍa-mukhaḥwith the face of a pig; asuraḥdemon; bhavabecome; mahā-khalaḥa great demon; ittham—in this way; saḥ—he; muni-śāpena—by the sage's curse; kolaḥKola; kroḍa-mukhaḥ—with the face of a pig; abhavat—became.

English translation of verse 5.24.54:

"Now become a horrible demon with the face of a pig!" By the sage's curse the king became a pig-faced demon named Kola.
