The Garga-samhita Verse 5.17.3, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 5 of Chapter 17 (The Gopis Describe Their Remembrance of Sri Krsna) of Canto 5 (mathura-khanda).

Sanskrit text, transliteration and word-by-word meaning:

स्रि-द्वर-पलिक उचुह् चकोरे ग्लौह् पग्कजे ऽर्को भ्रमरे पग्कजम् यथ चतके च घनह् प्रितिम् न करोति कदचन स्रि-द्वर-पलिक

sri-dvara-palika ucuh cakore glauh pagkaje 'rko bhramare pagkajam yatha catake ca ghanah pritim na karoti kadacana sri-dvara-palika

ucuh—the doorkeepers said; cakore—a cakor bird; glauh—the moon; pagkaje—a lotus; arkah—the sun; bhramare—a bee; pagkajam—a lotus; yatha—as; catake—a cataka bird; ca—and; ghanah—a cloud; pritim—love; na—not; karotidoes; kadacana—ever.

English translation of verse 5.17.3:

The gopi doorkeepers said: As the moon never loves the cakora birds, as the sun never loves the lotuses, as the lotus never loves the bumblebees, and as the cloud never loves the cataka birds, so Lord Krsna never loved us.
