तदा मुनिः खिन्न-मनाः
प्रेम्णा पुलकिताननः
पप्रच्छ पार्षदांस् तत्र
क्व गतो भगवान् इतः
tadā muniḥ khinna-manāḥ
premṇā pulakitānanaḥ
papraccha pārṣadāṃs tatra
kva gato bhagavān itaḥ
tadā—then; muniḥ—the sage; khinna-manāḥ—depressed; premṇā—with love; pulakitānanaḥ—the hair of his body erect; papraccha—asked; pārṣadān—the associates; tatra—there; kva—where; gataḥ—gone; bhagavān—the Lord; itaḥ—from here.
English translation of verse 2.24.37:
Depressed, and the hairs of his body erect with spiritual love, the sage asked the Lord's associates there, "Where did the Lord go?"
