The Garga-samhita Verse 2.10.23, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 2 of Chapter 10 (Description of Shri Krishna’s Herding the Cows) of Canto 2 (vrindavana-khanda).

Sanskrit text, transliteration and word-by-word meaning:

अग्रे कृत्वा गवां वृन्दं
सायम्-काले हरिः स्वयम्
रागैः समीरयन् वंशीं
श्री-नन्द-व्रजम् अविशत्

agre kṛtvā gavāṃ vṛndaṃ
sāyam-kāle hariḥ svayam
rāgaiḥ samīrayan vaṃśīṃ
śrī-nanda-vrajam aviśat

agre—in front; kṛtvā—placing; gavām—the cows; vṛndam—multitude; sāyam-kālein the evening; hariḥKṛṣṇa; svayam—personally; rāgaiḥ—with many melodies; samīrayan—playing; vaṃśīm—the flute; śrī-nanda-vrajam—to the gopa village of Nanda; aviśat—entered.

English translation of verse 2.10.23:

Placing the cows in front and playing many melodies on His flute, Kṛṣṇa returned to Nanda's village in the evening.
