The Garga-samhita Verse 2.8.13, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. स-रामश् चैकधा वत्सांश्
चारण्यं चारयन् ययौ
हायनापूरणीष्व् अत्र
पञ्चषासु च रत्रिषु

sa-rāmaś caikadhā vatsāṃś
cāraṇyaṃ cārayan yayau
hāyanāpūraṇīṣv atra
pañcaṣāsu ca ratriṣu

sa-rāmaḥwith Balarām; ca—and; ekadhā—one day; vatsān—trhe calves; ca—and; āraṇyam—to the forest; cārayan—herding; yayau—went; hāyanaone year; apūraṇīṣu—unfulfilled; atra—there; pañcaṣāsu—five; ca—and; ratriṣu—nights.

English translation of verse 2.8.13:

On the day when there were only five nights remaining to complete the year, Kṛṣṇa and Balarāma went to the forest as They herded the calves.
