The Garga-samhita Verse 2.7.19, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 2 of Chapter 7 (Kidnapping of the Calves and Cowherd Boys) of Canto 2 (vrindavana-khanda).

Sanskrit text, transliteration and word-by-word meaning:

श्री-बाल ऊचुः
यस्य मातामहा मूढा
शृणु नन्द-कुमारक
न ज्ञानं भोजने तस्य
तस्मात् स्वादु न विद्यते

śrī-bāla ūcuḥ
yasya mātāmahā mūḍhā
śṛṇu nanda-kumāraka
na jñānaṃ bhojane tasya
tasmāt svādu na vidyate

śrī-bālaḥ ūcuḥ—the boys said; yasya—of whom; mātāmahā—the grandmother; mūḍhā—bewildered; śṛṇu—listen; nandaof Nanda; kumārakaO son; na—not; jñānam—knowledge; bhojane—in eating; tasya—of him; tasmāt—therefore; svādudelicious; na—not; vidyate—is.

English translation of verse 2.7.19:

The boys said: O son of Nanda, his bewildered grandmother does not know how to cook. That was not delicious.
