The Garga-samhita Verse 1.10.29, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 1 of Chapter 10 (Description of the Birth of Lord Balarama) of Canto 1 (goloka-khanda).

नन्दो ऽपि कुर्वन् छिशु-जात-कर्म
ददौ द्विजेभ्यो नियुतं गवां च
गोपान् समाहूय सु-गायकानां
रावैर् महा-मङ्गलम् आतनोति

nando 'pi kurvan chiśu-jāta-karma
dadau dvijebhyo niyutaṃ gavāṃ ca
gopān samāhūya su-gāyakānāṃ
rāvair mahā-maṅgalam ātanoti

nandah—Nanda; api—indeed; kurvan—performing; śiśuof the child; jāta-karmathe birth-ceremony; dadau—gave; dvijebhyah—to the brāhmaṇas; niyutam— a million; gavām—of cows; ca—also; gopān—the gopas; samāhūya—calling; su-gāyakānām—of singers; rāvaih—with the music; mahā-maṅgalam—great auspiciousness; ātanoti—gave.

English translation of verse 1.10.29:

Nanda performed the child's birth ceremony and gave in charity a million cows to the brāhmaṇas. Then he called the gopas and observed a very auspicious festival with the music of many singers and instrumentalists.
