तज्-ज्योतिर्-मण्डले ऽपश्यत्
साकरं धाम शान्तिदम्
तस्मिन् महाद्भुतं दीर्घं
मृणाल-धवलं परम्
सहस्र-वदनं शेषं
दृष्ट्वा नेमुः सुरास् ततः
taj-jyotir-maṇḍale 'paśyat
sākaraṃ dhāma śāntidam
tasmin mahādbhutaṃ dīrghaṃ
mṛṇāla-dhavalaṃ param
sahasra-vadanaṃ śeṣaṃ
dṛṣṭvā nemuḥ surās tataḥ
taj-jyotir-maṇḍale—in the circle of light; apaśyat—he saw; sākaram—having a form; dhāma—an abode; śāntidam—peaceful; tasmin—there; mahā—very; adbhutam—wonderful; dīrgham—long; mṛṇāla—lotus stem; dhavalam—white; param—transcendental; sahasra—a thousand; vadanam—faces; śeṣam—Lord Śeṣa; dṛṣṭvā—seeing; nemuḥ—offered obeisances; surāḥ—the demigods; tataḥ—then.
English translation of verse 1.2.17:
In that circle of light he saw the form of a peaceful transcendental realm. When the demigods saw in that realm the very wonderful white lotus stem of thousand-faced Lord Śeṣa, they bowed down to offer respects to Him.
