ghālaviṇēṃ (घालविणें).—v c (An active verb formed upon ghālaṇēṃ. The following explication has no reference to it as the causal of ghālaṇēṃ) To turn away, pack off, cast out, expel: also, sometimes, to send or despatch; as gāṃvāsa myāṃ gaḍī ghālavilā ātāñca yēīla. 2 To throw off (an aspersion): to wash or wipe away (sinfulness &c.) 3 To dissipate or squander (money): to spend idly, destroy, kill (time, health, youth): to throw away (character, credit, an opportunity, an advantage): to confound, blast, spoil (a business). 4 To cast out, reject, eliminate. In arithmetic. Ex. visāntūna pandharā ghālavilē tara pāñca rāhatāta. 5 To thrust or force in. 6 To accompany a part of the road; to see off.
