This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 46.5

गच्छन्ति अवलोकेसि अवलोकेन्ति गच्छसि ।
किं भद्रे अवलोकेसि कहिं वा त्वं गमिष्यसि ॥ ५ ॥

gacchanti avalokesi avalokenti gacchasi |
kiṃ bhadre avalokesi kahiṃ vā tvaṃ gamiṣyasi || 5 ||

You go on and look round; you look round and go on. Why, lady, do you look round, and whither are you going? (5)
