The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

एकत्रैकार्णवोदग्रवृक्षविश्रान्तमाधवम् ।
एकत्र कल्परजनीनिःशून्यतिमिराकुलम् ॥ ४० ॥

ekatraikārṇavodagravṛkṣaviśrāntamādhavam |
ekatra kalparajanīniḥśūnyatimirākulam || 40 ||

In the ocean of the universal deluge, where Madhava (the divine spirit), floated on the leaf of the bata tree (ficus religiosus); there reigned the chaotic night along with him, and spread its darkness over the face of the deep.
