The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

सुतालोत्तालनाराचराजिरोचितवारणम् ।
मुष्टिप्रहारपिष्टांसमत्तैरावणवारणम् ॥ ३८ ॥

sutālottālanārācarājirocitavāraṇam |
muṣṭiprahārapiṣṭāṃsamattairāvaṇavāraṇam || 38 ||

Also numbers of elephants were pierced, with long and pointed shafts of steel and iron; and huge Airavatas were bruised in their bodies, by the blows of steeled fists.
