The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 2.1.132; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

द्वितीयो, यथा —
क्षणाद् अक्षौहिणी-वृन्दे जरासन्धस्य दारुणे ।
दृष्टः को’प्य् अत्र नादष्टो हरेः प्रहरणाहिभिः ॥२.१.१३१॥dvitīyo, yathā —
kṣaṇād akṣauhiṇī-vṛnde jarāsandhasya dāruṇe |
dṛṣṭaḥ ko’py atra nādaṣṭo hareḥ praharaṇāhibhiḥ ||2.1.131||

अन् एxअम्प्ले ओf बेइन्ग् एxपेर्त् इन् हन्द्लिन्ग् wएअपोन्स्:
“Wइथिन् अ सेचोन्द्, ओने चोउल्द् नोत् सेए अन्य् सोल्दिएर् अमोन्ग् थे fएरोचिओउस् फलन्x ओf जरासन्ध’स् अक्षौहिणिस्, अन्य् पेर्सोन् wहो wअस् नोत् बित्तेन् ब्य् थे स्नके- अर्रोwस् ओf थे लोर्द्.”
(३२) करुणः —
पर-दुःखासहो यस् तु करुणः स निगद्यते ॥२.१.१३२॥An example of being expert in handling weapons:
“Within a second, one could not see any soldier among the ferocious phalanx of Jarāsandha’s akṣauhiṇis, any person who was not bitten by the snake- arrows of the Lord.”(32) karuṇaḥ —
para-duḥkhāsaho yas tu karuṇaḥ sa nigadyate ||2.1.132||
English translation
(32) karuṇaḥ: compassionate —
“A person who cannot tolerate the suffering of others is called compassionate.”
