The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 1.2.24; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. तथा च, तृतीये (३.२५.३६) —
तैर् दर्शनीयावयवैर् उदार-
विलास-हासेक्षित-वाम-सूक्तैः ।
हृतात्मनो हृत-प्राणांश् च भक्तिर्
अनिच्छतो मे गतिम् अण्वीं प्रयुङ्क्ते ॥१.२.२४॥tathā ca, tṛtīye (3.25.36) —
tair darśanīyāvayavair udāra-
vilāsa-hāsekṣita-vāma-sūktaiḥ |
hṛtātmano hṛta-prāṇāṃś ca bhaktir
anicchato me gatim aṇvīṃ prayuṅkte ||1.2.24||
English translation
In the Third Canto of Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam [3.25.36] it is said:
“Upon seeing the charming forms of the Lord, smiling and attractive, and hearing His very pleasing words, the pure devotee almost loses all other consciousness. His senses are freed from all other engagements, and he becomes absorbed in devotional service. Thus in spite of his unwillingness, he attains liberation without separate endeavor.”
