The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 1.2.23; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

तत्रापि च विशेषेण गतिम् अण्वीम् अनिच्छतः ।
भक्तिर् हृत-मनः-प्राणान् प्रेम्णा तान् कुरुते जनान् ॥१.२.२३॥

tatrāpi ca viśeṣeṇa gatim aṇvīm anicchataḥ |
bhaktir hṛta-manaḥ-prāṇān premṇā tān kurute janān ||1.2.23||

English translation

“By prema, the bhakti processes such as hearing take possession of the mind and senses of persons who do not desire the goal of liberation at all.”
