Rig Veda 8.6.44

इन्द्र॒मिद्विम॑हीनां॒ मेधे॑ वृणीत॒ मर्त्य॑: । इन्द्रं॑ सनि॒ष्युरू॒तये॑ ॥
इन्द्रमिद्विमहीनां मेधे वृणीत मर्त्यः । इन्द्रं सनिष्युरूतये ॥
indram id vimahīnām medhe vṛṇīta martyaḥ | indraṃ saniṣyur ūtaye ||

English translation:

“The mortal (adorer) selects at the sacrifice Indra from among the mighty (gods); he who is desirous ofwealth (worships) Indra for protection.”
