Rig Veda 5.3.12

Sanskrit text [Accents, Plain, Transliterated]:

इ॒मे यामा॑सस्त्व॒द्रिग॑भूव॒न्वस॑वे वा॒ तदिदागो॑ अवाचि । नाहा॒यम॒ग्निर॒भिश॑स्तये नो॒ न रीष॑ते वावृधा॒नः परा॑ दात् ॥
इमे यामासस्त्वद्रिगभूवन्वसवे वा तदिदागो अवाचि । नाहायमग्निरभिशस्तये नो न रीषते वावृधानः परा दात् ॥
ime yāmāsas tvadrig abhūvan vasave vā tad id āgo avāci | nāhāyam agnir abhiśastaye no na rīṣate vāvṛdhānaḥ parā dāt ||

English translation:

“These (encomiums) are directed towards you, but perhaps an offence has thereby been uttered to (you), the giver of dwellings;may Agni,augmenting (by our praise), yield us not up to the maligner or the malevolent.”

Commentary by Sāyaṇa: Ṛgveda-bhāṣya

Perhaps an offence has: vasave vā tadid āgo avāci = that which is an offensive expression has been spoken to Vasu, giver of dwellings, by our saying or intimating, idam dehi, give this; or, this offence which has been offered to us by our enemies, has been reported to Agni
