The Garga-samhita Verse 6.5.12, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 6 of Chapter 5 (The Kidnapping of Shri Rukmini) of Canto 6 (dvaraka-khanda).

Sanskrit text, transliteration and word-by-word meaning:

अहो चास्मै न दत्तेयं
इति खिन्न-मनाः परम्
आनन्देन वने स्थाप्य
नत्वा स्व-गृहम् आययौ

aho cāsmai na datteyaṃ
iti khinna-manāḥ param
ānandena vane sthāpya
natvā sva-gṛham āyayau

ahaḥ—Oh; ca—and; asmai—to Him; na—not; dattāgiven; iyamher; iti—thus; khinna-manāḥunhappy at heart; param—greatly; ānandena—with bliss; vane—in the forest; sthāpyaplacing; natvā—bowing; sva-gṛham—to his home; āyayau—returned.

English translation of verse 6.5.12:

Unhappy at heart, he thought, "Alas, I did not offer her to Him!" Cheerfully giving Kṛṣṇa and Balarāma a place to stay in the garden, He bowed down before Them and then returned to his home.
