The Garga-samhita Verse 6.1.34, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 6 of Chapter 1 (Jarasandha’s Defeat) of Canto 6 (dvaraka-khanda).

Sanskrit text, transliteration and word-by-word meaning:

गृहित्वा तान् कलिर् अभूत्
तासां पत्य्-अर्थम् अम्बरे
ममानुरूपा तेनैव
इति तद्-गत-चेतसाम्

gṛhitvā tān kalir abhūt
tāsāṃ paty-artham ambare
mamānurūpā tenaiva
iti tad-gata-cetasām

gṛhitvā—taking; tān—them; kaliḥa quarrel; abhūt—was; tāsām—of them; paty-arthamfor the sake of the husband; ambare—in the sky; mama—me; anurūpālike; tena—by that; eva—indeed; iti—thus; tad-gata-cetasam—their hearts gone to them.

English translation of verse 6.1.34:

Many demigoddess desiring him as her husband, they quarreled over each hero.

They each thought, "He is perfect for me."
