The Garga-samhita Verse 6.1.12, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 6 of Chapter 1 (Jarasandha’s Defeat) of Canto 6 (dvaraka-khanda).

Sanskrit text, transliteration and word-by-word meaning:

यादवानां मागधानां
पश्यद्भिर् दिविजैर् दिवि
बभूव तुमुलं युद्धं
अद्भुतं रोम-हर्षणम्

yādavānāṃ māgadhānāṃ
paśyadbhir divijair divi
babhūva tumulaṃ yuddhaṃ
adbhutaṃ roma-harṣaṇam

yādavānām—of the Yādavas; māgadhānām—and the Magadhas; paśyadbhiḥ—looking; divijaiḥ—by the demiugods; diviin heaven; babhūva—was; tumulam—uproar; yuddham—fight; adbhutam—astonishing; roma-harṣaṇam—making th body's hairs stand erect.

English translation of verse 6.1.12:

As the demigods in heaven watched, the Yādavas and Māgadhas fought a tumultuous battle that made the hairs of the body stand erect with wonder.
