आकाशात् पतितः सो ऽपि
तारकेन ह्य् अधो-मुखः
उत्थाय मुष्टिना कृष्णं
ताडयाम् आस वेगतः
ākāśāt patitaḥ so 'pi
tārakena hy adho-mukhaḥ
utthāya muṣṭinā kṛṣṇaṃ
tāḍayām āsa vegataḥ
ākāśāt—from the sky; patitaḥ—fallen; saḥ—he; api—also; tārakā—a star; iva—like; hy—indeed; adho-mukhaḥ—face downward; utthāya—rising; muṣṭinā—with afist; kṛṣṇam—Kṛṣṇa; tāḍayām āsa—punched; vegataḥ—forcefully.
English translation of verse 5.8.3:
Like a comet Caṇūra fell headfirst from the sky. Standing up, he violently punched Kṛṣṇa.
