भिन्न-पादा भिन्न-नखाः
केचिच् छिन्नांस-बाहवः
वीराः पञ्च-सहस्राणि
निपेतुर् भूमि-मण्डले

bhinna-pādā bhinna-nakhāḥ
kecic chinnāṃsa-bāhavaḥ
vīrāḥ pañca-sahasrāṇi
nipetur bhūmi-maṇḍale

bhinna-pādā—broken feet; bhinna-nakhāḥ—broken nails; kecic—some; chinnāṃsa-bāhavaḥ—broken arms and shoulders; vīrāḥ—soldiers; pañca-sahasrāṇi—five thousand; nipetuḥ—fell; bhūmi-maṇḍale—to the gound.

English translation of verse 5.6.37:

Their feet, nails, arms, or shoulders broken, five thousand soldiers fell to the ground.
