विचेलुर् माथुराः सर्वे
दुद्रुवुस् तद्-दिदृक्षवः
पुर्यां कोलाहले जाते
नृणां जातं महद् भयम्
vicelur māthurāḥ sarve
dudruvus tad-didṛkṣavaḥ
puryāṃ kolāhale jāte
nṛṇāṃ jātaṃ mahad bhayam
viceluḥ—shook; mathurāḥ—the people of Mathurā; sarve—all; dudruvuḥ—ran; tad-didṛkṣavaḥ—wishingt to see; puryām—in the city; kolāhale—a tumult; jāte—was manifested; nṛṇām—ofthe people; jātam—manifested; mahat—great; bhayam—fear.
English translation of verse 5.6.38:
Trembling, the people ran to see it. There was a great uproar in the city. The people were very afraid.
