The Garga-samhita Verse 5.6.38, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 5 of Chapter 6 (Seeing Shri Mathura) of Canto 5 (mathura-khanda).

Sanskrit text, transliteration and word-by-word meaning:

विचेलुर् माथुराः सर्वे
दुद्रुवुस् तद्-दिदृक्षवः
पुर्यां कोलाहले जाते
नृणां जातं महद् भयम्

vicelur māthurāḥ sarve
dudruvus tad-didṛkṣavaḥ
puryāṃ kolāhale jāte
nṛṇāṃ jātaṃ mahad bhayam

viceluḥ—shook; mathurāḥthe people of Mathurā; sarve—all; dudruvuḥ—ran; tad-didṛkṣavaḥ—wishingt to see; puryām—in the city; kolāhale—a tumult; jāte—was manifested; nṛṇām—ofthe people; jātam—manifested; mahatgreat; bhayam—fear.

English translation of verse 5.6.38:

Trembling, the people ran to see it. There was a great uproar in the city. The people were very afraid.
