The Garga-samhita Verse 5.5.23, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 5 of Chapter 5 (Shri Krishna’s Entrance Into Mathura) of Canto 5 (mathura-khanda).

Sanskrit text, transliteration and word-by-word meaning:

आर्जवेन पुरीं वीक्ष्या-
गन्तव्यं भवता किल
न गोकुलं विद्धि चैनं
कंस-राज्ये महा-भये

ārjavena purīṃ vīkṣyā-
gantavyaṃ bhavatā kila
na gokulaṃ viddhi cainaṃ
kaṃsa-rājye mahā-bhaye

ārjavena—in a strauightforward way; purīm—the city; vīkṣyaseeing; āgantavyam—should be returned; bhavatā—by You; kilaindeed; na—not; gokulam—Gokula; viddhi—know; ca—and; enam—this; kaṃsa-rājye—the kingdom of Kaṃsa; mahā-bhaye—very fearful.

English translation of verse 5.5.23:

Look at the city and then quickly return. Know that this is not Gokula. This is the fearful kingdom of Kaṃsa.
