श्री-नारद उवाच
इति श्रुत्वा वचो गोप्यो
नत्वा तं मुनि-पुङ्गवम्
यमुनाम् एत्य मुन्य्-उक्तं
चोक्त्वा तीर्त्वा नदीं नृप
śrī-nārada uvāca
iti śrutvā vaco gopyo
natvā taṃ muni-puṅgavam
yamunām etya muny-uktaṃ
coktvā tīrtvā nadīṃ nṛpa
śrī-nārada uvāca—Srī Nārada said; iti—thus; śrutvā—hearing; vacaḥ—the words; gopyaḥ—the gopīs; natvā—bowing; tam—to him; muni-puṅgavam—the great sage; yamunām—to the Yamunā; etya—going; muny-uktam—the sage's words; ca—and; uktvā—saying; tirtvā—crossing; nadīm—the river; nṛpa—O king.
English translation of verse 4.1.39:
Srī Nārada said: O king, hearing these words, the gopīs bowed down before the great sage, went to the Yamunā, repeated the sage's words, and easily crossed the river.
