मुष्टिना तच्-छिरश् छित्त्वा
तस्माच् चूडा-मणिं हरिः
जग्राह माधवः साक्षात्
सुकृती शेवधिं यथा
muṣṭinā tac-chiraś chittvā
tasmāc cūḍā-maṇiṃ hariḥ
jagrāha mādhavaḥ sākṣāt
sukṛtī śevadhiṃ yathā
muṣṭinā—with a punch; tac-chiraḥ—his head; chittvā—cutting; tasmāc—from that; cūḍā-maṇim—the crest jewel; hariḥ—Kṛṣṇa; jagrāha—took; mādhavaḥ—Kṛṣṇa; sākṣāt—directly; sukṛtī—a pious man; śevadhim—a treasure; yathā—as.
English translation of verse 2.23.44:
With a great punch Kṛṣṇa severed the demon's head. Then, as a pious man takes the great treasure he has earned, Kṛṣṇa took the jewel from the demon's crown.
