The Garga-samhita Verse 2.14.11, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 2 of Chapter 14 (Description of Kaliya’s Story) of Canto 2 (vrindavana-khanda).

Sanskrit text, transliteration and word-by-word meaning:

गृहीत्वा तं च तुण्डेन
गरुडो दिव्य-वाहनः
भू-पृष्ठे पोथयाम् आस
पक्षाभ्यां ताडयन् मुहुः

gṛhītvā taṃ ca tuṇḍena
garuḍo divya-vāhanaḥ
bhū-pṛṣṭhe pothayām āsa
pakṣābhyāṃ tāḍayan muhuḥ

gṛhītvātaking; tam—him; ca—and; tuṇḍena—by teh beak; garuḍaḥGaruḍa; divya-vāhanaḥ—the transcendental carrier; bhū-pṛṣṭhe—to the earth; pothayām āsa—threw; pakṣābhyām—with both wongs; tāḍayan—beating; muhuḥ—again and again.

English translation of verse 2.14.11:

With his beak the transcendental carrier Garuḍa grabbed Kāliya, threw him to the ground, and beat him with both wings again and again.
