The Garga-samhita Verse 2.14.12, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 2 of Chapter 14 (Description of Kaliya’s Story) of Canto 2 (vrindavana-khanda).

Sanskrit text, transliteration and word-by-word meaning:

तुण्डाद् विनिर्गतः सर्पस्
तत्-पक्षान् विचकर्ष ह
तत्-पादौ वेष्टयंस् तुद्यन्
फुत्कारं व्यदधन् मुहुः

tuṇḍād vinirgataḥ sarpas
tat-pakṣān vicakarṣa ha
tat-pādau veṣṭayaṃs tudyan
phutkāraṃ vyadadhan muhuḥ

tuṇḍāt—from the beak; vinirgataḥescaped; sarpaḥthe snake; tat-pakṣān—from the wiongs; vicakarṣa—dragged; ha—indeed; tat-pādau——to his feet; veṣṭayan—surrounding; tudyan—striking; phutkāram—spitting; vyadadhan—doing; muhuḥ—again and again.

English translation of verse 2.14.12:

Escaping from the beak, Kāliya attacked Garuḍa's wings. Coiling around Garuḍa's feet, he spat poison again and again.
