दण्डो ऽपि भग्नतां प्रागात्
स क्षतो नाभवद् बकः
तदैव चाग्रतः प्राप्तस्
चण्डांशुश् चण्ड-विक्रमः
daṇḍo 'pi bhagnatāṃ prāgāt
sa kṣato nābhavad bakaḥ
tadaiva cāgrataḥ prāptas
caṇḍāṃśuś caṇḍa-vikramaḥ
daṇḍaḥ—the weapon; api—even; bhagnatām—the state of being broken; prāgāt—attained; sa—he; kṣataḥ—broken; na—not; abhavat—was; bakaḥ—the duck; tadā—then; eva—indeed; ca—and; agrataḥ—in the presence; prāptaḥ—attained; caṇḍāṃśuḥ—Sūrya; caṇḍa-vikramaḥ—powerful.
English translation of verse 2.5.10:
Indeed, the yama-daṇḍa became broken, but the duck was not hurt. Then powerful Sūrya approached.
