The Garga-samhita Verse 2.2.42, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 2 of Chapter 2 (Description of Giriraja Govardhana’s Birth) of Canto 2 (vrindavana-khanda).

Sanskrit text, transliteration and word-by-word meaning:

कृत्वा शौचं जले स्नात्वा
पुलस्त्यो मुनि-सत्तमः
उत्तिष्ठेति मुनिः प्राह
गिरिं गोवर्धनं परम्

kṛtvā śaucaṃ jale snātvā
pulastyo muni-sattamaḥ
uttiṣṭheti muniḥ prāha
giriṃ govardhanaṃ param

kṛtvā—having done; śaucam—purification; jale—in teh water; snātvā—having bathed; pulastyaḥPulastya; muni-sattamaḥthe best of sages; uttiṣṭha—rise up; iti—thus; muniḥthe sage; prāha—said; girim—to the mountain; govardhanam—Govardhana; param—then.

English translation of verse 2.2.42:

After bathing in the water there and becoming clean, the great sage Pulastya said to Mount Govardhana: "Stand up!"
