The Garga-samhita Verse 1.14.1, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 1 of Chapter 14 (The Liberation of Shakatasura and Trinavarta) of Canto 1 (goloka-khanda).

श्री-गर्ग उवाच
इत्य् एवं कथितं दिव्यं
श्री-कृष्ण-चरितं वरम्
यः शृणोति नरो भक्त्या
स कृतार्थो न संशयः

śrī-garga uvāca
ity evaṃ kathitaṃ divyaṃ
śrī-kṛṣṇa-caritaṃ varam
yaḥ śṛṇoti naro bhaktyā
sa kṛtārtho na saṃśayaḥ

śrī-gargaḥ uvāca—Śrī Garga Muni said; iti—thus; evam—in thjis way; kathitam—said; divyam—transcendental; śrī-kṛṣṇaof Śrī Kṛṣṇa; caritam—pastimes; varamexcellent; yah—one who; śṛṇoti—hears; naraḥ—a person; bhaktyā—with devotion; saḥ—he; kṛtārthaḥ—successful; na—not; saṃśayaḥ—doubt.

English translation of verse 1.14.1:

Śrī Garga Muni said: A person who with devotion hears Lord Kṛṣṇa's transcendental pastimes becomes perfect and successful. Of this there is no doubt.
