तं दृट्ट्वा मैथिलाः सर्वाः
पुरन्ध्र्यो मुमुहुर् विधे
रहस्य् ऊचुर् महात्मानं
भर्ता नो भव हे रघो
taṃ dṛṭṭvā maithilāḥ sarvāḥ
purandhryo mumuhur vidhe
rahasy ūcur mahātmānaṃ
bhartā no bhava he ragho
tam—Him; dṛṭṭvā—seeing; maithilāḥ—the women of Mithilā; sarvāḥ—all; purandhryaḥ—married; mumuhuḥ—became agitated; vidhe—O Brahmā; rahasi—in a secluded place; ūcuḥ—said; mahātmānam—to the Lord; bhartā—the husband; naḥ—of us; bhava—please become; he—O; raghaḥ—Raghu.
English translation of verse 1.4.37:
O Brahmā, when they saw Him, all the married women of Mithilā were overcome with desire. In a secluded place they all approached the Lord and said,
"O descendent of Raghu, please become our husband."
