Source: WorldCat: Rāj nighaṇṭuŚūlahantrī (शूलहन्त्री) is another name for Yavānī, a medicinal plant identified with Trachyspermum ammi Linn. or “ajwain” from the Apiaceae or “celery” family of flowering plants, according to verse 6.38-40 of the 13th-century Raj Nighantu or Rājanighaṇṭu.—The sixth chapter (pippalyādi-varga) of this book enumerates ninety-five varieties of plants obtained from the market (paṇyauṣadhi). Together with the names Śūlahantrī and Yavānī, there are a total of sixteen Sanskrit synonyms identified for this plant.
