Kālapurī (कालपुरी) is the name of an ancient kingdom, according to the Ratanapālarāsa by Sūra (Sūravijaya) (dealing with the lives of Jain teachers), which is included in the collection of manuscripts at the ‘Vincenzo Joppi’ library, collected by Luigi Pio Tessitori during his visit to Rajas than between 1914 and 1919.—Accordingly, “[...] Following an incident where somebody revealed to him that Mumana was not his father, Ratanapāla decided to leave (8v-9r). After an adventurous travel he reached an island which was described to him as very dangerous. (Kālapurī, king Kālamukha). With a medicinal plant he managed to cure the king who gave him his daughter Ratanāvatī. the wedding was celebrated (up to 12r). But Ratanapāla did not want to consummate the marriage before knowing what had happened to his real parents. [...]”.
