This page relates ‘Finding’ of the study on the concept of Sharira as Prameya Based on Nyaya (shastra), which represents one of the six orthodox schools of Hindu philosophy. Nyaya philosophy basically represents the “science of reasoning” and primarily deals with epistemology and logic. Sharira (“body”) refers to one of the twelve Prameyas (“objects of valid knowledge”), as defined in the Nyayashastra literature.

Body is the field of soul’s experiences. Senses are situated in the body. All activities are doing and and the fruits of all activities are knowing through the body. Eg. To know pleasure,pain, touch, taste, smell etc. Vātsyāyana in his Nyāyabhā gives the detailed study of the body. Nyāya Vaiśeṣika Philosophy explains different types of śarīra besides human body. What is body? How it is made? In modern science how it explain? As well as he explained the topic very well.
