32. Aśvatthāmā incarnation
Droṇa was born of sage Bharadvāja but not of any womb. Droṇa was an extremely skilled archer as well as excellent in the Vedas. He performed an elaborate penance to please Śiva for obtaining a son who will help Kauravas. Lord Śiva, satisfied by his penance, took birth as a son of Droṇa. That boy became well known as Aśvatthāmā.[1]
