The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

ब्रह्मैव कचतीवेदं सत्तयाच्छजगत्तया ।
चिद्रूपत्वाद्द्रवात्मत्वात्तरङ्गादितयाब्धिवत् ॥ १४ ॥

brahmaiva kacatīvedaṃ sattayācchajagattayā |
cidrūpatvāddravātmatvāttaraṅgāditayābdhivat || 14 ||

It is Brahma himself that shines in his brightness, in the form of this fair creation; by being dissolved throughout the whole, in his liquified form of the Intellect, as the sea shows itself in the changing forms of its waves.
