The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

ग्रामान्तरसमाक्रान्तविद्रवद्राजवल्लभम् ।
मण्डलान्तरसंजातनगरग्रामलुण्ठनम् ॥ १२ ॥

grāmāntarasamākrāntavidravadrājavallabham |
maṇḍalāntarasaṃjātanagaragrāmaluṇṭhanam || 12 ||

The royal party were flying for life into the villages, where they were pursued by the victorious soldiers; and a general pillage spread in every town and village throughout the realm.
