The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 4.9.8; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

तत्र आद्यं, यथा —
प्रणयन् वपुर् विवशतां सतां कुलैर्
अवधीर्यमाण-नटनो’प्य् अनर्गलः ।
विकिर प्रभो दृशम् इहेत्य् अकुण्ठ-वाक्
चटुलो बटु-व्यवृणुतात्मनो रतिम् ॥४.९.८॥

tatra ādyaṃ, yathā —
praṇayan vapur vivaśatāṃ satāṃ kulair
avadhīryamāṇa-naṭano’py anargalaḥ |
vikira prabho dṛśam ihety akuṇṭha-vāk
caṭulo baṭu-vyavṛṇutātmano ratim
||4.9.8||

English translation

Showing audacity:
“After showing off his lack of bodily control while dancing and being ignored by the devotees, the fickle, shameless brāhmaṇa boy addressed the Deity of Kṛṣṇa in a bold voice, ‘O Lord! Look at me!’ In this way he showed his love for the Lord.”
