Rig Veda 9.36.1

Sanskrit text [Accents, Plain, Transliterated]:

अस॑र्जि॒ रथ्यो॑ यथा प॒वित्रे॑ च॒म्वो॑: सु॒तः । कार्ष्म॑न्वा॒जी न्य॑क्रमीत् ॥
असर्जि रथ्यो यथा पवित्रे चम्वोः सुतः । कार्ष्मन्वाजी न्यक्रमीत् ॥
asarji rathyo yathā pavitre camvoḥ sutaḥ | kārṣman vājī ny akramīt ||

English translation:

“Pressed between the boards, (the Soma) has been let loose, like a chariot-horse, upon the straining-cloth-- the courser steps out on the field.”

Commentary by Sāyaṇa: Ṛgveda-bhāṣya

Kārṣman = the god-attracting battlefield called a sacrifice, devānām ākarṣanavati yajñākhye saṅgrāme; alternative, 'the furrow drawn as the goal of a race'; or a piece of wood serving for a goal (cf. RV. 1.116.17)
