The Garga-samhita Verse 6.13.15, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. आसीद् गजाह्वये वैश्यो
राज-मार्ग-पतिः परः
निधीशो धनदो यथा

āsīd gajāhvaye vaiśyo
rāja-mārga-patiḥ paraḥ
nidhīśo dhanado yathā

āsīt—there was; gajāhvaye—at Hastināpura; vaiśyaḥa vaiśya; rāja-mārga- patiḥ—a chief merchant; paraḥ—great; mahā-gaurava-samyuktaḥ—very respectful; nidhīśaḥ—the controller of great wealth; dhanadaḥ—generous; yathā—as.

English translation of verse 6.13.15:

In Hastināpura there was a great, generous, respectful, and very wealthy merchant.
